Niels is a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide. With a focus on Canada, we left Flanders Fields with a far greater understanding of Canada's significant contribution and sacrifice - during WW 1.Posted on Grant MartinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Niels is passionate about the WWI and with his knowledge, stories and photos brought it to life for us. He went out of his way to take us to Remy after hearing my grandfather was sent there after being injured. We would definitely recommend him if you wish to tour the many battlegrounds, cemeteries and towns around Flanders Fields. Thank-you from our group of six Canadians from Ontario!Posted on Jennifer PerryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We spent a wonderful day with Niels touring the battlefields and cemeteries of Flanders Field, ending the day with the Last Post in Ypres. Niels is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about World War I. He is a fantastic tour guide. My son said that our day with Niels was his favorite day in our trip to Belgium. He also reserved two fantastic restaurants for us for lunch and dinner. We ended the day with a much better understanding of WWI. It was a memorable and enjoyable day, one we will not forget.Posted on Arthur PerryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our experience was fantastic. Niels picked us up at our hotel in his very comfortable van for the 1 hour journey to Flanders Fields. He took us to the American Cemetery and then on to a number of other cemeteries including Tyne Cot, Polygon Woods, Essex Farm, and Lejssenthoek Hospital. We also saw the Yorkshire Trench, Hill 60 and the Centipede. Niels booked us lunch and dinner at excellent establishments and we capped the day with the Last Post at the Menin Gate in Ypres. He shared many fascinating stories of specific soldiers and others killed in the conflict which really connected us in a personal way. I highly recommend this tour if you want a personalized experience with a friendly and engaging guide.Posted on Ewan PerryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Where poppies bloom and stories endure
Flanders Fields, once a major battleground during World War I, witnessed some of the most intense and tragic fighting of the war. Soldiers from around the world made the ultimate sacrifice, leaving behind a legacy of courage and resilience. Today, the fields are dotted with memorials and cemeteries, a poignant tribute to the lives lost and a powerful reminder of the war's enduring impact. Among these sacred sites, poppies bloom as symbols of hope and renewal to remind us that from great loss, new life and meaning can emerge.
